Scott and Ericka Hayes are ordinary people who were rescued by an extraordinary God.  In the summer of 1999, after their freshman years at different colleges, they both experienced life altering personal encounters with Jesus. They were married in 2000 and have been passionate about Jesus, His Church and each other ever since. As collegiate athletes, and the first married homecoming king & queen in their school’s history, they launched the Alpha Omega student organization at Olivet College in Michigan, served at Greater Lansing Youth for Christ and worked as youth pastors at the historic church on Olivet’s campus until their graduation. After graduation they served in several ministries and worked bi-vocationally for almost a decade before launching and leading their first church in 2009.

In 2015, with the help of an amazing team, they launched Element Church in East Lansing, Michigan. It is a church of all generations that believes in the next one. Located near Michigan State University, the #1 international university in the United States, Element is facilitating the mantra: Change the Backyard, Change the World by helping people from all over the globe Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose and Make a Difference.

In addition to leading Element Church, Scott & Ericka have a passion to invest in other ministry couples, pastors, churches and  leaders. They have ministered internationally collaborating with churches, denominations,  missions organizations, high schools and colleges, businesses, television and radio stations, retreat centers, conferences, collegiate athletics through the Michigan State University football team, the Association of Related Churches (ARC) and the Next Level Relational Network (NLRN).

Their greatest joys, aside from Jesus and each other, are their three amazing children. They live in East Lansing MI with their kids and a mini goldendoodle.
